What is the reason of thirst before bedtime?
Canadian researchers have found evidence to suggest that the body's biological clock causes to we being thirsty before we go to bed. In fact, the thirst nerves in our body stimulate to our body's water throughout the night is supplied by drinking water. This team says if we understand the processes related to thirst in sleep time, we can obtain information about some of the strange and disturbing aspects of daily life that affect our biological clock, such as shift work patterns. This team knew from previous research that rats increase the amount of received water for their bodies before sleep while setting. But its reason was unclear. So, the researchers conducted the experiments on mice to understand the cause of this issue. Researchers say taking the water before sleeping mainly is for the supply of water during their sleep cycle. This indicates that a biological mechanism, even when the body doesn't lost the water, stimulate their thirst. This team knows that the brain can understand when the body needs water. But speculated that suprachiasmatic nucleus (a part of brain that controls the body's biological clock) may be is a way to connect with the thirst nerves that leads rats to drink water. The researchers say the biological clock in mice has a feature that predicts when sleep begins. As a result, it stimulates the brain to seek the required resources such as water and the body stays healthy in long period of rest. However, we must consider this fact this research was done on mice, so as long as it has not been tested and approved for human, we have to look at it with suspicion. But this team says understanding the biological mechanism can help us to understand many features of our bodies and know how our daily lives affect them.
