Meditation or trip: Which is better for your health?
The conducted researches have shown that meditation has a positive effect on mental health and helps to improve the mood and reduces the stress levels in humans. But a new study has shown that meditation can has physical health benefits as well. In fact, when it compares with the health benefits of stress-relieving activities like a relaxing holiday, the meditation effects can be even stronger and long-term. The study of researchers at the California University and Harvard Medical School has been carried out involving 94 healthy women in the age range of 30 to 60 years. Thirty of these participants had experienced regular meditation and had attended at meditation programs in resorts of California at the six-day of study. Sixty-four participants had no regular meditation program and half of them were randomly selected to enjoy of a relaxing holiday and the other half followed a meditation practice that was implemented by the Chopra Welfare Center. Meditation exercises was including Mantra meditation classes, yoga and self-reflection that all were designed by doctor Deepak Chopra, the author of best-selling books on meditation; of course, he did not participate in the study. The researchers collected blood samples from all three groups and Health surveys immediately before and after activities, one month and ten months after those received as reports that were done by own participates. Researchers studied more than 20 thousands of genes from each participant to have better understand the occurred biological changes in their body. The researchers found that all three groups showed some differences in the molecular arrangement after a week the presence in the residence. The significant changes in the biology of molecular path after holidays were related to stress response and the immune function. Welfare surveys assessment reported by participants showed that women who have learned meditation techniques during the study reported fewer depressive symptoms and had less stress than their counterparts who did not meditate, respectively. Also, these women were retained these benefits for a longer period than women who did not meditate. Studies have shown these mental health benefits have direct physical health benefits such as lower blood pressure and lower heart rate, improved digestion, more physical energy, and the immune system stronger. As done study, the benefits of meditation doesn't include just the mental health, and clear and measurable change also was evidence in who the body's function. In other words, daily meditation can be even best to you compared to a relaxing holiday for your mental and physical health and of course, is very cheaper active.
